Job summary

KIMCHUK INC, a fast-paced electronics contract manufacturer, seeks a Test Engineer to design and implement functional test procedures and fixtures for circuit card assemblies. You’ll develop test programs for Flying Probe and ICT systems, interfacing with customers to optimize testing and repair processes.

Required: ASEE minimum or BSEE preferred; strong circuit knowledge and troubleshooting skills; proficiency with MS Windows, Word and Excel. Full-time on-site position in Connecticut.

  • Strong understanding of electronic circuits and components.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex circuit card assemblies to the component level.

Responsibilities

  • Writes specifications for test development with technical requirements, cost and schedule.
  • Develops Functional Test procedures per specifications.
  • Develops Test Programs for Flying Probe and other ICT systems.
  • Recommends revisions to improve test coverage and reduce test time.
  • Reviews customer supplied test equipment, fixtures and procedures for application, clarity and completeness.
  • Reviews and implements changes required by customer ECNs.
  • Interfaces with customers to resolve test-related problems.
  • Collaborates with design engineering to set test specs and testability guidance.
  • Coordinates with Test Manager to optimize testing and lower costs.
  • Assists Test Technicians with difficult test problems and troubleshooting.

Position Test Engineer

Description

JOB SUMMARY: Develops Functional Test procedures and designs test fixtures, set-ups, and test equipment configuration to functionally test customer circuit card assemblies and top-level assemblies. Develops test programs and fixtures for Flying Probe circuit board test machines. Interfaces with internal groups and the customer to optimize testing and repair of product.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Writes specifications for test development which describe technical requirements, cost and schedule.
  • Develops Functional Test procedures according to specifications.
  • Develops Test Programs for Flying Probe and other In-Circuit Test systems.
  • Recommends revisions to test procedures and programs to improve test coverage, simplify testing, reduce test time, etc.
  • Reviews customer supplied test equipment, fixtures and procedures for application, clarity and completeness.
  • Reviews and implements changes required by customer ECNs.
  • Interfaces with customers as required to resolve test related problems.
  • Works with customer design engineering teams to establish test specifications and provide guidance and recommendations for testability.
  • Coordinates with Test Manager to optimize testing and lower costs.
  • Assists Test Technicians with difficult test problems as needed.
  • Provides guidance on troubleshooting, rework and repair of work in process and returned material.
  • Assists Sales and Marketing with technical issues to promote business.
  • Other duties and/or special projects may be assigned as required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • ASEE at a minimum, BSEE preferred
SPECIAL TRAINING/SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Must have a strong understanding of electronic circuits and components. Must have the ability to troubleshoot complex circuit card assemblies to the component level.
COMPUTER EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • MS Windows, Word and Excel experience required.
