Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking an engineer to develop software for signal waveform pre‑processing, analysis, and post‑processing. You will handle PAM4 signals to compute critical metrics and contribute to testing software for laser diodes and VCSELs in a manufacturing setting.

You will collaborate with hardware and software teams to create automated testing solutions, apply image processing and machine learning, and help advance the Finisar test suite using C/C++, VB.Net, C#.Net, and Python.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering with a strong foundation in Digital Signal Processing.
  • 2–4 years of code development experience in C/C++, C#, .Net, Python, MATLAB, with signal processing for high‑speed data communications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software solutions for signal waveform pre-processing, analysis, and post-processing, including PAM4, to compute key metrics.
  • Develop test software for measurement systems in laser diodes and VCSELs.
  • Design advanced testing and automation using image processing and machine learning.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to deploy test solutions in manufacturing.
  • Deliver software solutions for diverse cross‑functional requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the Finisar test suite in C/C++, VB.Net, C#.Net, and Python.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, with a strong foundation in Digital Signal Processing.
  • 2-4 years of experience in code development using C/C++, C#, .Net, Python, MATLAB, with specific experience in signal processing for high-speed data communications.
  • Experience with PAM4 signal processing is considered an advantage but not required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applying signal processing techniques to high-speed data communications.
Skills
  • Advanced programming skills in .NET languages and Python, with a specific focus on digital signal processing and analysis.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and experience with hardware interfacing, SDLC, multi-threaded programming, and system programming & integration.

Strong understanding of high-speed digital data concepts and signal processing techniques, with the ability to apply these skills in the development of cutting-edge transceiver technology

Working Conditions
  • This position is predominantly onsite
  • May require occasional off-site meetings or travel
  • Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary
  • Interaction with team members and external contacts is a regular part of the job
  • May require occasional overtime and flexibility in work hours to accommodate the executive’s needs
Physical Requirements
  • Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or conducting meetings.
  • Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.
  • Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Mobility within the office environment to attend meetings or interact with colleagues.
