Location
Position is based out of Waynesboro, VA and will be 100% on‑site.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design innovative and flexible hardware solutions with a motivated team of experts.
- Develop console designs, interface panel layouts, interconnections, power/cooling monitoring and control.
- Create RF designs and electronic circuit designs.
- Integrate software and hardware and perform requirements verification.
- Support investigation, resolution, and documentation of product anomalies.
- Apply knowledge of Design to Cost, Scope, and Schedule.
Basic Qualifications – Test Design Hardware Engineer
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience, or master’s degree with 0 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in hardware design; equivalent education may be substituted.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government Secret clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP).
- Experience with integrated analog, power, and digital hardware design.
- Experience in panel design, cable design, and schematic layouts.
- Proficiency with lab test equipment such as network analyzers, DMMs, and oscilloscopes.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Basic Qualifications – Principal Test Design Hardware Engineer
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience, or master’s degree with 3 years of experience, or a Ph.D. with 1 year of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional hardware design experience; equivalent education may substitute for experience.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government Secret clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP).
- Proficiency in integrated analog, power, and digital hardware design.
- Experience in panel design, cable design, and schematic layouts.
- Strong laboratory test experience using network analyzers, DMMs, and oscilloscopes.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline.
- Experience with automated test equipment (ATE) design and integration.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Experience with LabWindows/CVI, C/C++ programming, TestStand programming.
- Proficiency with digital, analog, RF test equipment and high‑speed digital design.
- Knowledge of differential digital interfaces such as LVDS, PXI, and VME bus.
- Experience with schematic design tools (Mentor Graphics, Zuken, Capital, etc.).
- Hands‑on troubleshooting with electrical hardware and software automation.
- Experience in PCB layout and technical lead responsibilities.
- Active or higher Secret clearance.

Salary and Compensation
Primary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 – $108,100.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 – $134,200.00
