Test Cell Mechanic - Greenville, SC

The Test Cell Mechanic supports test operations by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and basic instrumentation systems in a test cell environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems and test cell equipment.
  • Read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, schematics, and procedures to complete work accurately.
  • Assemble, align, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and basic instrumentation systems.
  • Support test set up, teardown, equipment monitoring, and operational issue response.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
  • Follow safety standards, company procedures, and applicable codes.
  • Complete work orders, maintenance records, and communicate clearly with team members and supervisors.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical training or equivalent experience in mechanical maintenance, industrial maintenance, or instrumentation preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical, maintenance, or test cell-related work environments preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, piping, and equipment maintenance.
  • Basic understanding of instrumentation and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and procedures.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting, climbing, confined spaces as required).
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
Requirements
  • Arrive at work on time, as scheduled, consistently, reliably, and complete each shift.
  • Follow all safety rules and standards for the company and for the site.
  • Understand and follow instructions from the direct supervisor.

Physical Profile Requirements

The job requires occasionally remaining on one's feet in an upright position without moving for long periods of time, occasionally moving about on foot for long periods of time, remaining in a seated position for long periods of time, and/or climbing stairs, step-ladders, extension ladders and scaffolding ladders. Must be capable of operating a standard 1/2 ton pick‑up for occasional delivery and pick‑up of materials and personnel and hold a valid, unrestricted motor vehicle operator's license issued by the state of residence, and the manual dexterity necessary to operate a standard desktop computer keyboard.
