Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking a Test Automation Software Engineer to craft and automate test infrastructure for real-time aerospace software projects. You will implement emulations of aerospace systems and extend CI/CD and testbed capabilities.

Ideal candidates have a BS in engineering or related fields and strong C/C++/Python, plus 3 years in embedded software, test development, and devops; MS/PhD welcomed.

Qualifications

  • Requires a B.S. in Software Engineering, CS, Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency in C++, C and Python.
  • 3 years of experience in embedded software, test development and devops.
  • Experience with CI/CD systems (GitLab, Bamboo).
  • Experience with containerization and virtualization environments.
  • Experience designing and developing test automation systems and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and automate test infrastructure for real-time aerospace software.
  • Design, develop, and test emulations of aerospace systems.
  • Improve and extend existing CI/CD and testbed systems.
  • Collaborate with spacecraft engineers and mentor other staff.
