Job summary

Version 1 Solutions Limited is seeking a Software Engineer in Test to join an agile team, contributing to manual testing while also driving automation initiatives across projects. You will help define test strategies, execute tests, and provide guidance to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities include recording issues, supporting scrum teams to automate tests, and reviewing environments to maintain high standards of quality.

Qualifications

• Experience performing manual testing and test automation in an agile environment.
• Ability to define and execute test strategies and scripts.
• Experience with cross-browser, API, integration, and acceptance testing.
• Familiarity with building/maintaining test automation frameworks in Java/JavaScript/Python/C#.
• Practical experience with open source tools such as Cypress, Karate, Playwright, Selenium.

Job description

You may have been working as a Software Engineer in Test, Test Engineer or Test Analyst who is confident in their ability performing manual test but also enjoy conducting automation testing. You'll be part of an agile team helping our clients achieve their business transformation goals by identifying requirements, developing solutions and providing ongoing guidance and advice in test. You may also get involved with:

• Defining and executing test strategies and scripts
• Accurate recording and monitoring of issues
• Providing support to the development of scrum teams to automate tests to guide development
• Reviewing test environments and processes to facilitate continuous improvement and maintenance of quality standards
• Providing test estimates
  Demonstrated experience of Automated Quality Assurance: Deliver overnight cross-browser, functional, non-functional, API, integration and acceptance tests
• Delivered front end cross-browser functional testing, device testing, exploratory, systems integration and user acceptance testing e.g. manual testing
• Confident with building and maintaining frameworks in one or more of these languages: Java, JavaScript, Python, or C#
• Have practical experience with open source tools such as: Cypress, Karate, PlayWright, Selenium or similar
• Worked in an agile environment
• Experienced with SQL
• Any performance testing experience or other non-functional testing experience would be beneficial
