Job summary

Version 1 Solutions Limited is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Test with strength in manual testing and automation. You will join an agile team helping clients transform business outcomes by shaping requirements, developing solutions and guiding testing strategies.

You may contribute to defining test plans, recording issues, automating tests, and improving environments to sustain high quality across projects. Prior automation using Cypress, Karate, Playwright or Selenium is advantageous.

Job description

You may have been working as a Senior Software Engineer in Test, Senior Test Engineer or Senior Test Analyst who is confident in their ability performing manual test but also enjoy conducting automation testing. You'll be part of an agile team helping our clients achieve their business transformation goals by identifying requirements, developing solutions and providing ongoing guidance and advice in test. You may also get involved with:

• Defining and executing test strategies, plans and scripts
• Accurate recording and monitoring of issues
• Providing support to the development of scrum teams to automate tests to guide development
• Reviewing test environments and processes to facilitate continuous improvement and maintenance of quality standards
• Providing test estimates. Demonstrated experience of Automated Quality Assurance: Deliver overnight cross-browser, functional, non-functional, API, integration and acceptance tests
• Delivered front end cross-browser functional testing, device testing, exploratory, systems integration and user acceptance testing e.g. manual testing
• Confident with building and maintaining frameworks in Java
• Have practical experience with open source tools such as: Cypress, Karate, PlayWright, Selenium or similar
• Worked in an agile environment
• Resident in the UK for five or more years with no more than 30 days per year out of the UK to meet Security Clearance (SC) eligibility or currently hold Security Clearance
• Any performance testing experience or other non-functional testing experience would be beneficial
