Job summary

Great Plains Manufacturing, a Kubota company, is seeking a Test and Validation Engineer to join our R&D Product Testing Team in Assaria, KS. This on-site role supports the development and validation of agricultural implements and equipment, with regular design-review participation and lab testing responsibilities.

You will perform data collection, analyze results, and generate reports while ensuring compliance with standards and safety requirements. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
• Solid understanding of hydraulic and electrical control systems.
• Experience with modern test equipment, data collection and data analysis.
• Ability to multitask, stay detail-oriented and collaborate across teams.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development of test and validation methods to optimize launches of new agricultural implements and equipment.
• Attend and contribute to design review meetings.
• Perform lab tests, analyze test data and prepare engineering reports.
• Document issues and ensure tests align with standards and customer requirements.

• Prepare and present technical reports used by engineering and management.
• Operate tests using industry-standard software/hardware.

Test & Validation Engineer

Assaria, KS

Great Plains Manufacturing, a Kubota company, is currently seeking an equipment Test and Validation Engineer to join our Research and Development Product Testing Team in Assaria, KS.

This is an on-site position that typically works Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with the development of new and creative test and validation methods with sound technical ability and leadership in order to rapidly optimize the launch of new agricultural implements, construction equipment and attachment products while maintaining safety, quality, durability and reliability
• Attend & contribute to design review meetings
• Perform lab tests, analyze test data and provide engineering reports on prototype machines and components
• Recognize and document problems in issue reports
• Oversee lab tests to ensure they align with test request, internal & external test standards and customer application requirements
• Coordinate & oversee accurate test setup and data collection with the Shop Foreman and Technicians
• Using proper engineering practices & principles; analyze/interpret test data and prepare and present technical reports that will be used by engineering and management personnel
• Use computer software and hardware to conduct tests on construction machinery and equipment according to industry standards
• Adhere to procedures, test methods, validation master plans and other validation and test-related documentation
• Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
• Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to safely troubleshoot/diagnose problems
• Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical control systems.
• Knowledge of modern test equipment, methods of test, data collection & data analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with various teams to gather key inputs, and be able to work well with diverse opinions and competing priorities.
• Ability to work independently; ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, communicate task status, oversee others work and seek assistance/direction when necessary.
• Availability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
• Strong experience with data acquisitions systems and control system programming
• 3D modeling experience
• Strong data analysis experience & knowledge
