Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for a Test & Evaluation Manager 2 in Melbourne, FL. This dual role combines Section Manager responsibilities with an Individual contributor program role, leading a team of engineers and designers across RAD programs.

You will mentor staff, oversee hiring and development, and ensure agile practices and MBSE methods are applied to complex systems engineering challenges. A DoD Secret clearance is required soon after hire.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 9 years of combined technical and management experience, or Master’s Degree with 7 years of combined experience.
  • Experience in Operations Analysis, Modeling & Simulation, Systems Analysis, System Architecture, Mission Integration or Model Based Systems Engineering.
  • Experience leading an engineering team or project.
  • Familiarity with AGILE/SCRUM Master, MBSE with CAMEO, DODAF 2.0.
  • Familiarity with AFSIM Modeling and SIM.
  • Must have a current DoD Secret clearance and a periodic reinvestigation, or an original adjudication within 5 years.
  • Previous experience in a SAP/SAR environment and ability to obtain SAP access.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for a Test & Evaluation Manager 2 position. The selected candidate will be responsible for the functional management of the Test & Evaluation Lab Cognizant Engineers, Lab Designers, Cyber Engineers, Software Engineers and Technicians supporting RAD programs in Melbourne, FL. This is a dual role Section Manager (Functional Role) and Individual contributor (Program Role).

Responsibilities
  • Lead a section of Test & Evaluation engineers (10 -15 employees)
  • Instruct, mentor and champion agile concepts and processes
  • Be responsible for hiring, development, training, and retention of section talent. Hiring will include university and experienced hiring.
  • Provide leadership and direction to team members and manage employee performance (including engagement strategies for higher performers and corrective actions for lower performers)
  • Responsible for day-to-day operation of the organization including employee movement, balancing of resources among programs, and resolving critical/urgent program/technical issues.
  • Promote the professional development of the Systems Engineering team and foster a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide clear assignments, helps employees connect their efforts to the bigger picture, creates an inclusive work environment characterized by mutual respect and the valuing of differences, and builds a culture that motivates employees to their highest levels of performance.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of combined technical and management experience, or Master’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 7 years of combined technical and management experience.
  • Experience in at least one of the following areas: Operations Analysis, Modeling and Simulation, Systems Analysis, System Architecture, Mission Integration or Model Based Systems Engineering.
  • Experience leading an engineering team or project.
  • Familiarity with AGILE/SCRUM Master, MBSE with CAMEO, DODAF 2.0.
  • Familiarity with AFSIM Modeling and SIM.
  • Must have a current DoD Secret clearance and a periodic reinvestigation, or an original adjudication date completed within the last 5 years.
  • Previous experience working in a SAP/SAR environment.
  • Ability to obtain SAP access.

  • Program access to all major NGAS programs.
Primary Level Salary Range

$0.00 - $0.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
