Job summary

Tesco is seeking a Shift Lead to lead the store team and deliver a high-quality customer experience. You’ll work across store areas, guiding colleagues and handling day-to-day queries with a focus on inclusive leadership and service excellence.

The role requires strong communication, a natural leadership style, and the ability to adapt to changing conditions while supporting teammates and customers. 18+ and retail leadership experience are preferred.

Tesco Shift Lead pay starts at £15.59 per hour, rising to £16.86 in stores within the M25. Some locations may offer additional payments. We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week, though roles from 12 hours are also available.

Your contracted hours will be scheduled within the availability windows shown, with at least 3 weeks' notice of your shifts. If your availability is close to what we're looking for, we still encourage you to apply.

You will be responsible for

Leading the team to deliver a great experience for customers in-store.Â

Working across all areas of the store and with all colleagues, being the go-to person for day-to-day operational queries.

You will need

To be over 18 for this role.

Experience working in a team lead or management position in a fast-paced retail environment. Â

Be a strong role model with a passion for delivering great service and ensuring every customer's needs are met.

Build positive, long-lasting relationships to create an inclusive, supportive team environment.

A clear communicator, using a variety of methods to keep the team well informed.

A natural leader who motivates and inspires the team to deliver outstanding results.
