Job summary

The College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University is hiring for a TES Necropsy Diagnostic Lab Support role. This temporary position assists pathologists with animal necropsies, dissection and sample collection, and documentation. The Temporary Employment Services unit coordinates staffing; candidates must have a high school diploma and be able to lift and perform physical tasks. Qualifications

  • Must be up to date on Tetanus vaccination and willing to receive Rabies vaccine series.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe and clean work environment.
  • File and catalog specimens.
  • Follow recipes to make laboratory solutions.
  • Regularly involves lifting, bending or other physical exertion.
  • Often exposed to heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc.

Job description

The College of Veterinary Medicine is hiring for a TES Necropsy Diagnostic Lab Support.

This role supports pathologists with large and small animal necropsies: assist with dissection and sample collection, fill forms, operate still and video cameras.

Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:

  • Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
  • Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
  • Assistance with special projects
  • Seasonal work
  • Emergencies

AU students are not eligible for TES.
