Job summary

The Gowan Co. is seeking a Seed Sales Representative in Michigan to promote and sell our seed portfolio to growers, distributors, and agricultural professionals. You will develop key relationships, provide technical agronomy advice, and tailor solutions to meet yield and profitability goals.

The role requires travel within the territory, strong communication, and a proven track record in agricultural sales. This is a full-time, salaried/commission-based position reporting to the Sales Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Plant Science, or related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in agricultural sales or agronomy.
• Strong understanding of seed products, crop production, and agronomic practices.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in agriculture.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the territory.

Responsibilities

• Promote and sell Gowan Seeds' products to growers, distributors, and retailers within the territory.
• Develop new business opportunities and build long-term relationships with customers and stakeholders.
• Identify customer needs and recommend seed products to optimize yield and profitability.
• Achieve or exceed sales targets by developing and executing sales strategies.
• Monitor competitor products, pricing, and market trends to maintain a competitive edge.
• Manage accounts receivable in sales portfolio.
• Provide technical product support, including seed selection and agronomic practices.
• Conduct field visits and on-farm trials to showcase product performance.
• Collaborate with R&D to feedback customer preferences and product improvements.
• Plant and evaluate field trials to promote products and identify opportunities.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve issues related to product performance and delivery.
• Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and market analyses for management.
