Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie Company Inc. is seeking a Territory Sales Representative (TSR) to grow truss sales in the Pacific Northwest. This full-time, exempt position involves maintaining relationships with customers, promoting products, and ensuring software utilization effectively.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years in the industry. Competitive compensation of $80,000 – $120,900 annually along with comprehensive benefits.

Job description

Territory Sales Representative (TSR) – Truss

Grow truss sales in the Pacific Northwest territory and maintain relationships with component manufacturing customers, promoting Simpson's Building Technology software suite and related hardware products.

Responsibilities
  • Drive demand and grow sales in the defined marketplace. (60%) – active job‑site presence, prospecting, sales calls, identifying opportunities, giving presentations, hands‑on demonstrations, training, repairing tools.
  • Ensure existing Building Technology customers are utilizing the software to its greatest capability through sales‑oriented software demonstrations. (25%) – communicate customer needs, work with product managers for solutions.
  • Promote Simpson Strong‑Tie as an industry partner and potential employer; participate in tradeshows, association meetings, committees, and provide educational opportunities in classrooms throughout the territory. (10%)
  • Assist in securing and maintaining product specifications and support consistent CRM management, scheduling, business planning, expense reporting, vehicle maintenance, and other duties as assigned. (5%)
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Fluent in general construction practices and distribution channels.
  • Strong working knowledge of the project workflow from architect/engineer to contractor.
  • Sales and account‑management experience with a proven track record of sales/profit growth.
  • Technical aptitude to acquire product knowledge quickly and act as a trusted resource.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Perform tasks requiring frequent standing, walking, sitting, seeing, talking, and hearing; occasional pushing or lifting up to 50lbs. Work in professional office environments, customer sites, and outdoor construction sites. Standard office equipment used; noise levels may be loud at times.

Travel

Domestic travel up to 65% of the time.

Work Status & Location

Full‑time, exempt position located in the Pacific Northwest; relocation may be considered.

Compensation

Salary range: $80,000 – $120,900 per year. Quarterly bonuses or commissions are available.
