Job summary

Simpson Strong‑Tie is seeking a Territory SalesRepresentative (TSR) – Truss to drive demand and grow sales in the Florida territory, engaging with component manufacturers and promoting the Building Technology software suite and related hardware products. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of industry experience, a Bachelor’s degree, and strong knowledge of construction practices, project workflows, and CRM tools like Salesforce.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in general construction practices and distribution channels.
  • Strong working knowledge of project workflow from architect/engineer to contractor.
  • Sales and account management experience with a proven track record of sales/profit growth preferred.
  • Technical: ability to gain product knowledge to become a trusted resource for Simpson Products and solutions, working with specialists to provide support as needed.
  • Presentation Skills: ability to develop and present captivating presentations and incorporate sales skills to guide prospects through a story.

Responsibilities

  • Drive demand and grow sales in the defined marketplace. This includes being active on jobsites, prospecting, conducting sales calls, identifying opportunities, giving presentations including hands‑on demonstrations, training, and repairing tools. (60%)
  • Ensure existing Building Technology customers are utilizing the software to its greatest capability by conducting sales‑oriented software demonstrations and communicating customer needs to product managers to provide solutions. (25%)
  • Promote Simpson Strong‑Tie as an industry partner and potential employer; participate in tradeshows, association meetings, and various committees and/or causes; provide educational opportunities in classroom settings throughout your territory including but not limited to truss yards, wall panelizers, and contractors. (10%)
  • Other duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to consistent CRM management and usage, scheduling, business planning, submitting expense reports, regular maintenance of company‑owned vehicles, and other duties as assigned. (5%)

Role Summary

As a Territory Sales Representative (TSR) – Truss, you will be responsible for growing Truss sales in the Florida territory while creating and maintaining effective relationships with component manufacturing customers. Your goal will be to promote Simpson’s Building Technology software suite and related hardware products, encompassing job management, design and analysis for prefabricated metal plate connected wood trusses, estimating wall panels, and engineered wood products. You will coordinate with and contribute to overall branch and company efforts to profitably grow our business, lead and participate in training sessions/workshops in and out of the territory, and collaborate with Regional Sales Managers, Product Management, Marketing, and other TSRs to develop and coordinate sales strategies and programs.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, see, talk, and hear. The employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50lbs.

Work environment: The job operates in a professional office environment, customer sites and outdoor construction job sites. The employee uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners. The employee occasionally works around moving mechanical parts; noise level may be loud at times.

Travel: domestic travel up to 60% of the time.

Work Status & Location

This full‑time, exempt position is located in Florida. Relocation may be considered.

Pay

$75,200 – $91,400 per year.
