About the Role:
Forge Consulting Group is currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a dynamic Territory Sales Manager. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth across a defined territory by cultivating strong relationships with both distributor partners and direct customers. The ideal candidate will possess technical acumen, a consultative sales approach, and experience in managing regional accounts in the automation or industrial components sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Distributor Sales & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain relationships with key distributors across the region.
- Provide technical and sales training to distributor staff.
- Conduct joint sales calls and establish shared target account strategies.
- Review and update business plans with distributor partners regularly.
- Present new products and solutions in structured sales meetings (e.g., Lunch & Learns).
Direct Account Development
- Engage with end users and OEMs on a regular basis (monthly/quarterly touchpoints).
- Identify, nurture, and grow new business opportunities.
- Provide technical application support and product training to customer personnel.
- Maintain a healthy opportunity funnel and customer relationship pipeline.
Sales Strategy & Administration
- Define and execute territory sales growth plans and personal development goals.
- Record and manage all sales activities using CRM tools.
- Track business expenses and submit reports in a timely manner.
- Maintain demo kits, marketing materials, and company-provided tools in professional condition.
- Report quarterly territory performance to leadership through structured presentations.
- Attend regional and national trade shows, generating qualified leads as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally in automation, electrical components, or industrial systems.
- Experience working with both channel partners and direct accounts.
- Basic understanding of electrical/electronic principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word.
- Familiarity with CRM and ERP platforms.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable with regional travel.
Travel Expectations:
- Territory travel every other week (on average).
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a clean, well-maintained vehicle.
