Job description

Territory Sales Manager (Dallas)
About Magma Math

Magma is one of the world's fastest-growing and most celebrated edtech companies, transforming math education through the power of AI. Our platform turns handwritten solutions into digital insights, empowering teachers to focus on creativity and deeper learning - while giving them real-time visibility into student progress.

The result? More inclusive, engaging, and effective math classrooms for all learners.

But we're not just building better tools. We're tackling one of the biggest challenges in global education: math underperformance. With 1 in 5 students globally struggling in math - a subject that forms the backbone of so many career paths - we believe the opportunity to improve outcomes at scale is massive.

We're already the go-to solution in thousands of schools - and we're just getting started. As we expand rapidly across the U.S. and Europe, we're building a team as ambitious as our mission: to help millions of students unlock their full potential in math.

About the Role

The Sales team at Magma Math drives revenue and ensures our platform reaches the students and teachers who need it most. The U.S. market represents our largest opportunity for growth and our greatest chance to make a difference.

We're looking for a high-energy Territory Sales Manager who's ready to build something from the ground up. This is a role for a doer, someone hungry, mission-aligned, and energized by developing a new territory, establishing structure, and leading a team that wins together.

You’ll manage and grow a team of field sales professionals focused on institutional and district clients, staying close to the ground through school visits, conferences, and high-stakes conversations with district leaders. You’ll use data to drive decisions, set the tone for accountability, and partner cross-functionally to scale effectively.

If you thrive on autonomy and the chance to make a real impact on how students learn math, we’d love to talk.

What you will do
  • Lead & Develop: Play a foundational role in developing a newer territory and building the infrastructure to support it. You’ll mentor and scale a team of field sales professionals, establishing structure and shaping the way we go to market with institutional and district clients, owning the full employee lifecycle from hiring to performance management.
  • Drive Performance: Set and track operational and business development metrics while presenting performance insights to the executive team.
  • EdTech Market Growth: Expand new business pipelines within the K-12 space, build strategic partnerships, and support the closure of high-impact deals.
  • Collaborate & Align: Partner with Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Finance to achieve shared objectives across the customer lifecycle.
  • Data-Driven Leadership: Use sales data to forecast accurately and highlight key trends for leadership.
  • Lead by Example: represent our values in high stakes interactions with district leaders, oftentimes on site in school districts or at events such as ISTE, ASU+ GSV, and others.
  • Market Insight: Stay current on education market trends, competition, and industry best practices to inform strategic planning for the K-12 space.
What you bring
  • Sales Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in new business development/closing roles (B2B), including selling across multiple geographic markets or districts.
  • Management Experience: 2+ years of outbound sales managerial experience, including hiring, motivating, and developing teams of 4+ employees.
  • SaaS Expertise: B2B SaaS professional with a background in scaling education technology markets through strategic account development, stakeholder alignment, and value-driven selling.
  • Methodology: Solid experience in system transactional sales and methodologies such as MEDDIC, SPIN, or Challenger.
  • Leadership & Communication: Ability to develop and motivate a sales team through excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Personal Attributes: A high-energy, resilient self-starter who leads by doing; driven by results and grounded in data.
  • Nice to Have: Experience specifically within K-12 or ed-adjacent fields, with a deep understanding of procurement cycles and institutional buying processes.
You May Be a Good Fit for This Role If:
  • You care deeply about public education and believe math is a gateway to opportunity.
  • You have sales experience (bonus if it is in edtech!). While we typically hire people with 4+ years of software sales experience, we’re open to anyone who can prove they’ll succeed in this role.
  • You are competitive with yourself and those around you. We love people with a disciplined background who show up ready to win.
  • You’re not afraid to pick up the phone and call.
  • You want to be part of something special and grow on a team. We promise: you will grow tremendously here, you will make a meaningful impact, and you will make an impact in tens of thousands of student's lives

Compensation: $100k-200k based on experience

Note: we are an in-office first culture and work from our Dallas office four days per week.
