Job summary

Ryerson invites you to join our Sales Engineer team. You’ll engage customers by phone and email, collaborating with internal and external partners to meet their needs across Kentucky, Indiana, and Western Michigan, with a base in Kentucky or Indiana.

Responsibilities include interpreting prints and CAD files, understanding tolerances and materials, estimating pricing, and ensuring technically accurate proposals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; engineering degree preferred.
• 1-3 years of sales experience in the metal industry.
• Print reading required; CAD/drafting experience a plus.
• Experience with SAP is highly preferred.
• MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) skills required.
• Technical aptitude and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and qualify customer documents (prints, CAD files, specs).
• Understand tolerances, materials, specs, processing options.
• Manage part-specific supply chains with internal/external assets.
• Estimate material, labor, delivery options and develop pricing templates.
• Evaluate sales proposals for technical accuracy and quality standards.
• Conduct technical analysis of product configurations for pricing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
