We seek a professional who is both analytical and a relationship-builder, with entrepreneurial drive to own and manage a territory. If this describes you, we want to hear from you! As a Territory Manager, you will market, manage, and underwrite commercial business with select agencies or brokers. Your goal will be to drive profit and premium to meet financial objectives by developing, negotiating, and implementing business plans. You will influence agencies through sales strategies, processes, and practices that promote new sales, increased shelf space, profit, and customer retention. Collaboration with internal partners is essential to support and enhance Nationwide's presence.
Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Reports to the Director or Associate Vice President.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
Licenses/Certifications: Relevant professional designations such as CPCU or CIC preferred.
Experience: At least seven years of progressive underwriting and sales experience in commercial insurance, with expertise aligned to our underwriting preferences.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong knowledge of commercial underwriting, pricing, and coverage for middle-market business; excellent interpersonal and sales skills; ability to build partnerships; independent judgment; decision-making skills; results-driven attitude.
Leadership qualities, competencies, and experience may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions require approval. The position is exempt from overtime. Heavy travel may be required. A valid driver’s license and safe driving record are necessary.

Salary range: $94,000 - $194,000. Expected starting range: $104,000 - $156,000. Salary depends on skills, experience, location, and market conditions.
