We are seeking a driven and relationship-focused Territory Manager to lead sales growth and expand market opportunities within an assigned territory. This role will focus on developing strategic relationships with key stakeholders, managing complex sales cycles, building a strong pipeline, and delivering innovative solutions that address customer needs.
Position Responsibilities
Territory Strategy & Sales Growth
- Develop and execute a territory strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
- Manage complex, long-cycle sales opportunities from initial engagement through closing.
- Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline activity, and account plans.
Customer & Stakeholder Relationships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, building owners, investors, architects, contractors, and other key decision-makers.
- Understand customer needs and position solutions that deliver value, performance, sustainability, and improved user experiences.
- Serve as a trusted advisor throughout the sales process.
Business Development & Pipeline Management
- Proactively generate new opportunities through networking, referrals, industry events, speaking engagements, and other business development activities.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Partner with internal sales, marketing, operations, and technical teams to support customer needs and drive successful outcomes.
Consultative & Technical Sales
- Communicate complex or technical concepts in a clear and compelling manner.
- Educate customers and stakeholders on product features, performance benefits, and value propositions.
- Tailor presentations and recommendations to address the needs of diverse audiences.
Travel & Territory Management
- Travel extensively throughout the assigned territory for customer meetings, project discussions, and industry events.
- Manage territory priorities independently while maintaining strong communication and collaboration with internal teams.
- Represent the organization professionally at customer sites, trade shows, and industry events.
Prerequisites
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder, and long-cycle sales processes.
- Experience in real estate, architecture, construction, building products, or a related solution-based industry is preferred.
- Proven ability to build relationships with a diverse range of decision-makers and stakeholders.
- Strong sales, negotiation, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Self-driven with the ability to independently develop a sales pipeline and source new opportunities.
- Ability to translate technical or complex concepts into clear, customer-focused messaging.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data to support decision-making.
- Willingness and ability to travel 50% or more.
- Valid driver's license.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Professional sales or business development certifications.
- Experience or training related to the architecture, construction, real estate, or building products industries.
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices, energy efficiency, or innovative building technologies.
