Qualifications

• Five years of healthcare business development, physician relations, provider outreach, referral development, or healthcare networking experience.
• Documented success generating patient referrals, not solely brand awareness, product sales, fundraising, or event attendance.
• Experience developing professional relationships with healthcare providers, hospitals, health systems, multi-location practices, or other established referral networks.
• Strong professional résumé demonstrating measurable business-development and referral-generation results.
• Professional references who can speak to relationship-building ability, performance, reliability, and results.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a strategic network of professional referral sources across the territory.
• Cultivate relationships with pediatricians, hospitals, health systems, diagnostic providers, therapists, and schools serving children and families.
• Identify new referral opportunities and create territory-specific plans to grow them.
• Conduct in-person and virtual meetings with prospective and existing referral partners.
• Educate referral sources about services, eligibility, intake process, locations, and referral pathways.
• Maintain consistent follow-up to strengthen relationships and encourage continued referrals.
• Reengage inactive referral sources and expand high-performing relationships across departments or locations.
• Build relationships with decision-makers, clinical leaders, referral coordinators, and other influencers of patient access.
• Generate qualified patient referrals aligned with services and capacity.
• Document referrals, sources, interactions, and follow-up in designated systems.
• Monitor referred patients through intake and authorization processes.
• Collaborate with Intake and Authorizations teams to remove barriers and prevent drop-offs.
• Keep referral partners informed while protecting patient privacy per HIPAA and policies.
• Analyze referral activity and conversion patterns to identify successful sources and strategies.
• Maintain an actionable pipeline of referral opportunities.
• Plan and participate in community or brand-awareness events monthly; evaluate outcomes.
