Job summary

The Salvation Army Central Territory seeks a Territorial Disaster Training Coordinator to strengthen disaster response readiness by training staff and volunteers, coordinating disaster training programs, and building a network of qualified trainers. This role is onsite at Hoffman Estates, IL and requires leadership across teams.

Responsibilities include developing an annual training plan, certifying trainers, and coordinating national and international conferences while advancing preparedness

Qualifications

• Minimum education/experience in ministry, teaching, volunteer management, emergency management or related field.
• Critical Incident Stress Management training or willingness to complete within first year.
• Approved trainer for The Salvation Army’s EDS/ESC courses.

Responsibilities

• Train and mentor staff and volunteers to competency for emergency disaster operations.
• Develop and maintain cadre of volunteer trainers with up-to-date certifications.
• Coordinate Divisional, National and International Salvation Army EDS conferences and trainings.
