Job summary

Terrain Café, a garden-to-table dining concept, seeks a dedicated Server to join our front-of-house team. You’ll greet guests, guide them through seasonal menus, and deliver exceptional hospitality in a warm, nature-inspired space.

Ideal candidates bring experience in elevated, high-volume service, a guest-focused approach, and a passion for food and sustainability. Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is preferred.

Terrain Café is a chef-driven, garden-to-table restaurant that celebrates seasonal ingredients and the art of gathering through thoughtful menus and warm, welcoming spaces rooted in craftsmanship and heartfelt hospitality. Terrain Café is seeking a dedicated and passionate Server to join our front-of-house team. From greeting guests to recommending food and beverage pairings, this role is central to creating meaningful and memorable dining experiences. We’re looking for someone who brings a blend of experience, warmth, and curiosity—a service professional who is committed to quality and care, passionate about food, eager to learn, and thrives in a collaborative, guest-centered environment.

Role Responsibilities

Guest Experience

• Provide personalized, elevated service in a welcoming, nature-inspired setting.
• Guide guests through seasonal menus and beverage offerings.
• Follow steps of service with consistency
• Anticipate guest needs and deliver prompt, thoughtful attention throughout service.
• Create a calm, intentional atmosphere that encourages return visits.

Service Execution

• Greet and engage guests with enthusiasm, poise, and genuine hospitality.
• Thrive in the details – actively listening, to accurately account for allergies, preferences and needs
• Take and accurately input orders using the Toast POS system.
• Deliver food and beverages in a timely and polished manner.
• Offer refined tableside wine service and engaging beverage presentations.
• M aintain cleanliness and organization across all service areas.
• Process payments accurately and follow café standards.

Menu & Product Knowledge

• Conduct menu tours that demonstrate in-depth knowledge of dish preparation, ingredient sourcing, and local purveyors.
• Confidently explain specials and seasonal updates.
• Recommend well-matched food and drink pairings.
• Educate guests on our beverage menu, including wines, craft beers, non-alcoholic drinks, and specialty coffees.
• Complete seasonal menu testing, as directed

Team Collaboration

• Support teammates and jump in where needed during service.
• Work collaboratively with peers, respecting that we all play a part in the guest experience.
• Adapt to evolving guest needs and pacing in a dynamic dining environment.
• Participate in daily team meetings and seasonal tastings to stay aligned.

Role Qualifications

• Previous experience in an elevated, high-volume environment preferred.
• Friendly, guest-focused communicator with a poised, professional presence.
• Ability to multitask while staying calm and organized under pressure.
• Passionate about hospitality, food, and sustainability.
• Familiarity with POS systems (Toast).
• Flexible availability preferred- may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and select holidays.
• Physically able to:
• Lift up to 50 lbs
• Stand, bend, reach, and move for extended periods
