Job summary

Terra Mae, located in Portland's Alberta Arts Neighborhood, seeks a PM Prep Cook to support the kitchen team and craft dishes in a unique fusion menu blending Portuguese and Japanese influences.

You will prepare ingredients, learn our techniques, and help maintain quality and efficiency from prep through service in a fast-paced upscale setting. Prior prep cook experience and Food Handlers card are preferred.

Qualifications

• Be able to work from 4PM-Close.
• Previous experience as a prep cook or in a culinary setting preferred, ideally in an upscale dining environment.
• Passion for food and a willingness to learn about cultural fusion and culinary techniques.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and kitchen equipment.
• Must be at least 18 years old and have or be willing to acquire a Food Handlers card.

• Menu Knowledge: Develop a strong understanding of our unique menu offerings, including ingredients and preparation methods, to ensure quality and authenticity.
• Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to health and safety regulations (must have a valid Food Handlers card or be willing to acquire one).
• Collaboration: Work closely with fellow kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and seamless communication during busy periods.
• Adaptability: Be flexible and ready to assist in various kitchen tasks as needed, supporting smooth operations from prep to service.
• Quality Control: Monitor food quality and portion sizes, adjusting as necessary to meet our high standards.

Job Summary: Terra Mae is seeking a skilled PM Prep Cook to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in preparing ingredients and supporting the kitchen team, ensuring that each dish reflects the creativity and quality of our culinary offerings.
