Job summary

Orkin is seeking a Termite Technician (Maintenance) to join our field service team in Vista, CA. You will complete our company-paid training and learn to operate a pest control service route, prioritizing safety and customer satisfaction.

You will drive a company vehicle, perform attic remediations, crawlspace encapsulations, and other energy-efficient treatments, while documenting work with a handheld device and delivering professional service to residential and commercial customers.

Qualifications

• No experience required; we'll train you to be a Pro.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to obtain the pesticide license within the first 90 days (company paid).
• Ability to work in the field independently and manage route-based assignments.

Responsibilities

• Complete our training to learn the daily operation of a pest control service route.
• Prioritize safety in all responsibilities.
• Drive a company vehicle and follow a route schedule within the territory.
• Provide professional service and empathetic problem-solving for customers.
• Prepare and install services such as attic remediations, crawlspace encapsulations, gutter protection, and energy-efficient barriers.
• Interact with customers to set expectations and walk through the process with them.
• Complete service-related documentation using the handheld device.

Responsibilities

Where and how will you serve customers?

• Complete our award-winning company paid training and learn the skills required to be responsible for the daily operation of a pest control service route to become a Pro
• Prioritize safety in all responsibilities
• Drive a company vehicle and follow a route schedule within assigned territory, ensuring timely and safe arrival at each customer
• Conduct yourself with the utmost professionalism and integrity with customers and coworkers
• Serve as a problem solver for each customer with empathy by listening to and understanding their needs and utilizing Orkin Pro expertise to recommend the most efficient and innovative solution
• Prepare and install home or business services to include, but not limited to, attic remediations, crawlspace encapsulations, gutter protection, and radiant heat barrier for energy efficiency
• Interact with customers in their home or business by setting project expectations and walking them through the process to ensure satisfaction
• Complete all required service-related documentation and leverage your hand-held device provided for speed and accuracy

What will my work environment be like?

Candidates must meet physical job requirements and safely perform the job duties with or without accommodations:

• Safely use a ladder within the manufacturer's weight capacity
• Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Safely access crawl spaces, attics, confined spaces, roof tops, etc. including the ability to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) which sometimes requires an OSHA-compliant respirator
• Willing to work in different types of weather conditions
