Job summary

SMS Healthcare seeks a diligent janitorial worker to maintain the cleanliness of commercial and healthcare facilities. Tasks include cleaning rooms, hallways, restrooms, lobbies, and other spaces with various equipment, while assisting with light administrative duties as needed.

Must have basic English skills, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and work under a team-oriented supervisor. This role offers competitive benefits and a stable environment within our Sacramento locations.

Summary: Keeps premises of commercial, retail, airports, hospitality, healthcare, convention centers/arenas or other institutional buildings in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned.):

• Assist Facility Manager with scheduling, VAssist with administrative duties, cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Lifting chairs and place them over tables (approx. chair weight: 20-25 lbs.).
• Moving chemicals (5 gal buckets approx. weight 40+ lbs.).
• Moving tables (approx. weight 40+ lbs.)

Requirements

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience: Prior experience in janitorial housekeeping preferred.

Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization in English.

Math Ability: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one‑or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills desired but not required.
