Job summary

Ash Grove Cement, a CRH company, is hiring a Terminal Operator I to join our plant operations. The role involves loading/unloading trucks or rail cars, operating on-site equipment, and ensuring safety compliance.

Reports to the Terminal Manager; hourly pay is $20.00. Benefits include Health, Dental, Vision, Retirement, Paid Vacation/Holidays, Tuition Reimbursement, EAP, Disability Pay, Life Insurance, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
• Willingness to learn; training will be provided.
• Receive basic site safety training including First Aid and all applicable LSR Training
• Receive OSHA (IHSA) 10 hour certification

Responsibilities

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Gains full understanding and demonstrate adherence to the safety program
• Loads trucks and/ or rail cars as per the daily schedule utilizing the on-site systems
• Unloads product as per the daily schedule utilizing the on-site systems
• Operates on site mobile equipment and receive training
• Handles inquiries and orders for customers and sales personnel
• Maintains shipping logs, prepares bills of lading, and calculates split-load tonnages based on a customer's instructions
• Works with company apps for site emails, safety incident reporting, completing training and other programs.
• Maintains supply point and 5S standards
• Assists with basic maintenance of equipment on site
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Work Environment

What to expect in a cement environment: Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
