Job description

Responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of NGL storage, transportation, and distribution terminal. Supports product receipt, storage, inventory management, truck, rail, pipeline, and marine transfer operations where applicable, as well as equipment monitoring, maintenance preparation, regulatory compliance, measurement, product quality, and emergency response. Works with Commercial, Engineering, Maintenance, Measurement, Environmental, and other support personnel to maintain safe and efficient terminal operations.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct work safely and comply with governmental, environmental, regulatory, corporate, and site-specific requirements for occupational safety, employee health, process safety, and environmental protection
  • Monitor and operating terminal equipment, including pumps, compressors, loading systems, storage tanks, vapor-handling systems, pipelines, valves, meters, instrumentation, and related process equipment
  • Perform truck, railcar, pipeline, and marine loading or unloading activities, as applicable, using approved procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor product movements, tank levels, storage conditions, custody-transfer measurements, inventory accuracy, product accountability, and timely reporting.
  • Collect product samples and support product quality verification in accordance with established procedures
  • Conduct routine inspections of terminal equipment, tanks, piping, relief devices, loading racks, meters, instrumentation, fire-protection systems, and other safety-critical equipment
  • Identify abnormal operating conditions, report deviations, troubleshoot operational or process issues, and take appropriate action while coordinating with Engineering, Measurement, Maintenance, Environmental, and Commercial teams as needed.
  • Execute startup, shutdown, commissioning, and operational-readiness activities for assigned equipment and facilities
  • Prepare equipment and facility areas for maintenance or repair, including work permits, lockout/tagout, isolation, gas testing, draining, depressuring, and decontamination
  • Support environmental compliance programs and promptly report conditions that could conflict with permits, regulations, or company requirements
  • Complete operating logs, inspection forms, inventory records, custody-transfer documentation, compliance records, and other required reports accurately and on time.
  • Support planning and execution of turnarounds, outages, special projects, maintenance activities, and capital improvements
  • Assist with training, mentoring, operator qualification, and employee development programs
  • Participate in incident investigations, root-cause analyses, corrective-action implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in emergency-response drills and actual emergency-response activities as assigned
  • Respond to supervisor or lead-operator direction, callouts, and non-routine operating events as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to safely monitor and operate process equipment and terminal assets
  • Ability to troubleshoot operational issues, exercise sound judgment, respond appropriately to changing conditions, work independently with minimal supervision, manage multiple priorities, and maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, rotating schedules, and respond to callouts as business needs require
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications and electronic operating or maintenance systems
  • Ability to follow all applicable PPE requirements, including eye protection, safety footwear, flame-resistant clothing, hearing protection, and respiratory protection when required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required regulatory qualifications and certifications where required by facility operations
  • Ability and willingness to travel periodically for training, qualification activities, operational support, project assignments, emergency response, and other business needs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Three to five years of experience in NGL, LPG, petrochemical, terminal, pipeline, fractionation, or related midstream operations
  • Experience with truck, rail, pipeline, or marine product transfer operations
  • Experience with inventory reconciliation, product accounting support, custody transfer, sampling, and measurement activities
  • Familiarity with SCADA, terminal automation, distributed control systems, field instrumentation, and alarm management
  • Experience using SAP, Maximo, or another computerized maintenance management system
  • Working knowledge of OSHA Process Safety Management requirements and applicable DOT, PHMSA, U.S. Coast Guard, EPA, state, and local requirements.
  • Strong organizational, collaboration, and customer service skills
  • TWIC credential or ability to obtain one if required by the facility
  • First Aid/CPR, HAZWOPER, fire brigade, or emergency-response training
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, tanks, and elevated structures
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, squat, bend, crawl, sit, and work in close quarters or confined spaces when required
  • Ability to work outdoors and in changing climate, noise, and industrial conditions
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including flame-resistant clothing and respiratory protection when required
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations while on duty
