Targa Resources seeks a Terminal Operations Technician (Transportation) to oversee the safe, efficient cargo transfer at the Galena Park Marine Terminal in Galena Park, TX, coordinating cranes, pumps, valves, boilers, and related shore equipment while supporting operations for a multi-national customer base.

On-site duties require a high school diploma or GED, a valid Texas driver’s license, the ability to lift heavy loads, work 12-hour day/night rotating shifts including weekends and holidays,

Responsibilities

  • Oversee safe and efficient cargo transfer operations at marine docks and shore equipment.
  • Maintain operation of pumps, compressors, valves, boilers, dehydration and refrigeration systems.
  • Work at Galena Park Marine Terminal in Galena Park, TX.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Terminal Operations Technician (Transportation)
JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient cargo transfer operation of the marine docks and related shore equipment (Cranes, loading arms, gangways).
  • Responsible for shore equipment which includes pumps, compressors, valves, , boilers, dehydration and refrigeration systems.
  • Must work at Targa's Galena Park Marine Terminal in Galena Park, TX (DOT and USCG regulated facility)
  • Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid Texas driver's license
  • Must be able to access equipment on barges and ships, some heavy lifting and tugging on ropes, hoses & loading arms, operating valves(Is this a job function?)
  • Able to work 12 hour (day/night)rotating shifts, including weekends (two scheduled weekends per month) and holidays, subject to callouts & overtime
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Windows applications
  • Must be able to work in a self-managed team environment
  • Must be a self-starter and flexible; able to plan and manage multiple tasks
  • Able to work with a multi-national customer base
  • Able to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous marine LPG/Chemical terminal experience with pumps, compressors, valves, , boilers, dehydration and refrigeration systems.
  • College courses in process technology, process controls and instrumentation
  • Has a valid TWIC card
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull at least a minimum of 50lbs.
  • Ability to work in changing climate conditions.
  • Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.
