Under close supervision, you will assist experienced operators and develop hands-on skills in product handling and facility operations. This internship focuses on gaining practical experience, learning regulatory compliance, and building problem-solving abilities through real tasks and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Power Plant Operator, Chemical Plant Operator, or related program.
• Interest in terminal operations and energy industry.
• Ability to work outdoors and in varying conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with gauging petroleum products transferred to and from tanks, trucks, rail cars, pipelines, and vessels under direct supervision.
• Learn valve lineups, switches, and tank changes for safe movement of petroleum products.
• Follow safety protocols and work with experienced operators to prevent spills, contamination, and loss.
• Input basic product or operational data into terminal automation systems (e.g., ATLAS, TopTech).
• Participate in routine inspections and help record findings and support corrective actions.
• Assist with general facility upkeep and equipment maintenance.
• Support customer and driver interactions and assist with vessel, truck, and rail rack operations.
• Perform assigned project and administrative tasks in support of terminal operations and training objectives.
• May assist with DOT-covered functions under supervision.
