Qualifications

  • Prior terminal operations experience is required.
  • Rail experience is required.
  • Fuel ethanol or petroleum/fuel terminal experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with railcars, tank storage, loading/unloading, pumps, valves, piping, and terminal equipment.
  • Strong understanding of safe work practices and industrial safety procedures.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use standard hand tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and identify maintenance concerns.
  • Comfortable working around fuel, ethanol, rail equipment, and heavy industrial machinery.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with drivers, contractors, vendors, and internal personnel.
  • Must be physically capable of walking, standing, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Basic laboratory/process knowledge is a plus
  • Hazmat certification required; training will be provided

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day‑to‑day operation of the rail, fuel storage, and truck‑loading areas
  • Monitor terminal systems, equipment, tanks, pumps, valves, and related infrastructure
  • Manage the safe and efficient receiving, storage, and transfer of fuel ethanol
  • Perform routine inspections and identify potential equipment or safety issues
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and basic mechanical troubleshooting
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe terminal environment
  • Follow all OSHA, DOT, environmental, company, and terminal safety requirements
  • Conduct safety inspections and immediately address unsafe conditions
  • Work directly with truck drivers, rail personnel, contractors, vendors, and customers
  • Ensure terminal procedures and operating rules are followed
  • Complete required documentation, inspections, and operational records
  • Respond appropriately to operational issues, emergencies, and equipment problems
  • Support general terminal maintenance and other operational duties as needed

An established and growing operation is seeking an experienced Terminal Operator with a strong background in rail terminal operations and fuel ethanol. This is a hands‑on position responsible for the safe, efficient operation of a fuel ethanol receiving, storage, and truck‑loading terminal. The ideal candidate understands rail operations, ethanol/fuel handling, terminal equipment, safety compliance, and truck loading operations and can step into the role and make an immediate impact.

What You'll Do
