Job summary

Final Mile Systems is seeking an experienced Terminal Manager for a busy crossdock facility in Greensboro, NC. You will oversee night operations, staff management, and ensure safe, efficient freight movement.

The role requires leadership in a high-volume environment, strong knowledge of crossdock/LTL processes, and compliance with DOT/OSHA standards. You will drive productivity, audits, and staff development for both 1099 and W2 personnel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in terminal or dock operations management.
• Proven leadership in a high-volume freight environment.
• Knowledge of crossdock, LTL shipping, and freight flow processes.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and OSHA compliance.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in logistics software and MS Office.

About the Role:

A well-established logistics and freight handling company is seeking a highly experienced Terminal Manager to oversee daily operations at a busy crossdock facility. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient and timely movement of freight while maintaining operational excellence and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all Crossdock terminal operations, including inbound and outbound freight flow, staffing, and scheduling.
• Manage and lead a team of dockworkers and drivers.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement processes to improve productivity and minimize downtime.
• Monitor freight integrity, damage control, and proper documentation.
• Coordinate with dispatch and transportation teams to meet delivery timelines.
• Conduct regular facility audits and safety meetings.
• Hire, train, and evaluate terminal staff including 1099 contractors and W2 employees.
• This is a night time shift starting at 10pm Monday - Friday.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in terminal or dock operations management.
• Proven leadership skills in a high-volume freight handling environment.

• Must be able to utilize a forklift.
• Must have a clean driving record and willing to drive a 26 foot box truck when needed.
