Job summary

Groendyke Transport is seeking a Terminal Manager to oversee and coordinate terminal activities across assigned locations, driving performance and profitability.

The role requires leading from the front, managing multiple priorities, and turning strategy into results while developing field leaders and ensuring consistent execution.

You will partner across networks, coach Driver Managers, and work with Sales to support onboarding, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• College degree required.
• 10+ years of experience in the transportation industry.
• Strong leadership experience across multiple locations or teams.
• Ability to manage performance, control costs, and improve operational efficiency.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships across teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage costs including non-revenue pay, contracts, and managed services.
• Lead initiatives to improve operations through standardization of processes, people, and technology.
• Support network optimization efforts across assigned locations.

• Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities.
• Lead incident investigations and ensure timely root cause resolution.
• Partner with Regional leadership to ensure proper staffing and operational support.
• Build strong internal partnerships to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

This role is responsible for driving operational performance, managing costs, developing field leadership, and ensuring consistent execution across the network. This is a high-impact role for someone who can lead from the front, manage multiple priorities, and turn strategy into results.

Work environment and physical requirements

This position operates primarily in an indoor office environment, with occasional exposure to outdoor conditions based on span of control. The role involves mostly sitting, some walking, and the ability to speak, hear, and see clearly for the responsibilities of the job.
