Job summary

The role focuses on growing epitaxial oxide thin films, setting up free-space terahertz and optical experiments, and collaborating across disciplines to push cryogenic cavity-spin systems with antiferromagnetic materials. A PhD and strong programming skills are required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in terahertz generation and characterization, free-space optic experiments, antiferromagnetic spintronics, or cavity spintronics.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop terahertz coplanar resonators, including design, simulation, fabrication, and terahertz characterizations of the resonators.
• Set up terahertz and optical free-space experiments for the terahertz cavity and antiferromagnetic oxides, including thin films and bulk crystals.
• Grow epitaxial antiferromagnetic oxide thin films, such as α-Fe2O3, Cr2O3, NiO, using magnetron sputtering system.
• Build and measure cavity coupling with antiferromagnetic magnon modes in a cryogenic superconducting electromagnet.
