Job summary

Chico State invites applications for a tenure-track instructional faculty position in Animal Science. The appointee will teach undergraduate courses, engage in scholarship, and provide student advising and committee service.

A strong emphasis on developing intradisciplinary scholarly activities supports the College and University mission. Responsibilities include teaching load of 12 WTU per semester with initial WTU release, advising majors, and active service.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or veterinary degree required; PhD preferred.
• California licensure within 12 months of start date must be pursued.
• Ability to teach undergraduate Animal Science courses.
• Demonstrated potential for intradisciplinary scholarly activities.

Responsibilities

• Teach 12 weighted teaching units per semester with 3 WTU release for first two years.
• Advise undergraduate students, especially Animal Science majors with Pre-Veterinary option.
• Engage in service on college/university committees.
• Develop scholarly activities aligned with the college's mission.
