California State University, Chico invites applications for an Assistant Tenure-Track Professor in the College of Agriculture (Animal Science Program) starting Fall 2027.

The position encompasses undergraduate teaching, scholarship, and service, with a teaching load of 12 weighted units per semester and a 3-unit release for the first two years. The successful candidate will advise students in Animal Science and participate in college and university committees.

Qualifications

• DVM with California licensure within 12 months of start date or PhD in related field.
• Terminal degree must be conferred by start date or as allowed during the process.
• Experience working with diverse populations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses as part of a 12 WTU per semester load, with 3 WTU release for the first two years.
• Engage in scholarship and grants activities to support the college mission.
• Provide student advising and participate in college/university committees.
• Develop intradisciplinary scholarly activities aligned with the college and university goals.
