Qualifications

• Earned Ph.D. in biology or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated record of research accomplishment in vertebrate evolutionary genomics.
• Effective communication skills with students and colleagues; demonstrated or potential for collaborations.
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness or potential for teaching undergrad and grad courses.
• Experience or potential for mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
• Evidence of seeking or being awarded intramural or extramural funding, commensurate with career stage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research using modern genomic tools to study evolutionary processes in vertebrate systems.
• Link genome to phenome and study genome architecture and evolutionary processes (hybridization, adaptation, speciation).
• Teach undergrad and grad courses in biology, including vertebrate anatomy and genome biology.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students and foster rigorous inquiry.
• Support WSU’s land‑grant mission by promoting access and opportunity in research, teaching, and service.
