The University of West Georgia History Program invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of U.S. History (1865-present) in the School of Humanities. The start date will be in August 2027.

All specializations will be considered. The responsibilities include teaching the HIST 2112 U.S. History II (since 1865) survey course as well as advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in the successful candidate's fields of focus.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in History by July 31, 2027.
• Record of effective teaching at the post-secondary level preferred.
• Ability to teach cross-listed courses and interdisciplinary humanities.

Responsibilities

• Teach HIST 2112 U.S. History II (since 1865) survey and related courses.
• Develop and maintain an active research agenda aligned with UWG aims.
• Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
