The MIT Department of Physics invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in theoretical high-energy, nuclear, gravitational, and/or quantum physics, beginning July 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. We seek candidates with a strong record of accomplishment in theoretical physics research who are committed to innovation and leadership across all these areas.

A Ph.D. in physics or a physics-related discipline is required by the start of employment.

• Conduct theoretical research in preferred subfields (high-energy, nuclear, gravitational, quantum physics) and related areas.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and supervise student participation in research.
• Engage in service to MIT and the broader scientific community and contribute to inclusive work environments.
