Job summary

Morehouse College in Atlanta invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Sport Management and Sport Leadership to begin August 1, 2027. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate curriculum, teach courses in sport management, leadership, finance, law, event and facility management, communication, branding, and analytics, and advise majors.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in Sport Management, Kinesiology, Sport Leadership, Human Performance, or closely related field.
• ABD candidates will be considered with a clear path to completion by August 2027.
• Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate level.
• Evidence of a scholarly research agenda in sport management, leadership, or related fields.
• Commitment to mentoring undergraduate students, including those from underrepresented backgrounds.
• Interest in curriculum development and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Experience or interest in securing external funding is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in Sport Management and Sport Leadership and related areas.
• Teach general education courses as assigned by the department and in alignment with the College’s core curriculum.
• Advise and mentor students majoring in Kinesiology, Sports Studies, and Physical Education.
• Develop new courses that align with programmatic goals and emerging trends in sports management and leadership.
• Develop and maintain an active scholarly agenda.
• Serve on department, division, and college-wide committees.
• Contribute to institutional initiatives in general education and experiential learning.
• Support the College’s mission to develop men with disciplined minds who will lead lives of leadership and service.
