Lehman College invites applications for two tenure or tenure-track Assistant or Associate professorships beginning Fall 2027. The Department of Social Work seeks candidates with a strong record of research and a commitment to teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.

The appointees will teach across core courses, engage in research, advise students, and participate in department and university service.

Qualifications

• DSW or Ph.D. in Social Work with experience in agency-based practice required on commencement of the appointment.
• Three years of post-masters practice experience; Experience with diverse populations and urban issues.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in social work practice, human behavior in the social environment, social policy, and fieldwork.
• Engage in research/scholarship and professional organization; advise students.
• Provide service to the department, college, university, and community, including program coordination, committee work, and administrative duties.
• Evening teaching will be required.
