Job summary

UNLV invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Sociology with a focus on Social Inequalities and Crime, Law, and Deviance. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses and supervise master’s and doctoral students.

They should pursue extramural funding, contribute to quantitative and qualitative methods instruction, and engage with a multicultural student population, aligning with the department’s strengths in Urban Life, Culture, and Life

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Sociology or related field required or ABD.
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Social Inequalities and Crime, Law, Deviance.
• Strong research record or potential and willingness to secure extramural funding.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Social Inequalities and Crime, Law, and Deviance.
• Supervise and mentor master’s and doctoral students.
• Contribute to instruction in quantitative and/or qualitative methods.
• Teach SOC 101 and engage in research with students.
