Job summary

John Jay College of Criminal Justice, a senior college of CUNY, seeks two tenure-track Assistant Professors to begin Fall 2027. Candidates will teach in the Security major and Homeland Security/Cyber Crime minors, contributing to curriculum development and student mentorship.

Ideal applicants will have a PhD in related fields, publish in peer-reviewed venues, and demonstrate commitment to inclusive, multicultural education in a dynamic urban setting.

Qualifications

  • PhD degree in Security Management, Homeland Security, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Criminal Justice, or related field.
  • Evidence of teaching experience, training delivery, student mentorship, or professional instructional experience in higher education, government, military, law enforcement, or private-sector settings.
  • Ability to teach undergraduate courses in security management and contribute to curriculum development in emerging areas of security and technology.
  • Research and publication(s) on related security topics in peer‑reviewed outlets.

Responsibilities

  • Teach security-related courses in our undergraduate Security major and minors in Homeland Security and Cyber Crime.
  • Course load is six classes per year; significant course release available.
  • Engage in research, service to the department and college, and publish findings.
