Job summary

John Jay College of Criminal Justice, part of the City University of New York, invites applications for two full-time lecturer positions in the Department of Law, Police Science, and Criminal Justice Administration to begin Fall 2027.

The successful candidates will teach security-related courses to undergraduate majors and minors, including Homeland Security and Cyber Crime, with a teaching load of eight courses per year.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Security Management, Homeland Security, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated professional experience in security management, cybersecurity, homeland security, risk management, intelligence analysis, emergency management, corporate security, or related fields.
• Evidence of teaching experience, training delivery, student mentorship, or professional instructional experience in higher education, government, military, law enforcement, or private-sector settings.
• Ability to teach undergraduate courses in security management and contribute to curriculum development in emerging areas of security and technology.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in Security major and minors, with a course load of eight classes per year.
• Coordinate the Security-related major and minors, including assessment and curricular development.
• Contribute to curriculum development in emerging areas of security and technology.
• Engage in department service; there is no expectation of research or publication.
