Utah State University’s Department of History in Logan invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Religious Studies. The successful candidate will teach six courses per year across Judaism, Christianity, and the Bible, contribute to general education, and mentor undergraduates while engaging in research.

We seek a dynamic teacher and scholar committed to collaborative work within a vibrant academic community. Start date August 2027; review begins November 23.

Formación

• PhD in Religious Studies or related field by July 2027 (ABD accepted if completed by July 2027)
• Ability to teach Judaism, Christianity, and the Bible and the Religious Studies senior capstone
• Ability to teach in the university's General Education program
• Evidence of teaching excellence
• Evidence of scholarly productivity

Responsabilidades

• Demonstrate excellence in teaching and effectiveness in research
• Teach courses in Religious Studies including Judaism, Christianity, and the Bible, as well as the Religious Studies senior capstone
• Teach in the university's General Education program in the Center for Civic Excellence
• Provide mentoring for undergraduate students
• Serve on graduate thesis committees in History and Ancient Languages and Cultures
• Produce high quality, peer-reviewed scholarship
• Provide service in the program, department, college, and university
