Arizona State University’s School of Historical, Philosophical, and Religious Studies invites applications for the Michael W. Rubinoff Assistant Teaching Professorship in Jewish Studies, a full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure-track faculty position beginning August 16, 2027.

We seek a dynamic teacher with expertise in Jewish history and/or Jewish religion and a strong record of undergraduate teaching. The successful candidate will engage multicultural student populations in both specialized

Qualifications

• PhD in Jewish Studies, History, Religious Studies, or a related field by the time of appointment.
• Demonstrated record of successful undergraduate teaching.
• Expertise in Jewish history and/or Jewish religion.

Responsibilities

• Teach a 4/4 course load.
• Contribute regularly to SHPRS’ core curriculum.
• Teach courses that support the broader humanities and interdisciplinary mission of the university.
• Participate in appropriate service activities within SHPRS and the university.
• Contribute to the intellectual and pedagogical life of Jewish Studies at ASU.
