Job summary

Prairie View A&M University’s School of Public and Allied Health invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in the Division of Public Health. The successful candidate will lead field education, advise students, and contribute to departmental, college, university, and professional service.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Public Health, Global Health, Health Promotion, or a closely related field.
• Evidence of effective teaching experience at the college/university level.
• Demonstrated scholarly potential with peer-reviewed publications or a clear research agenda.
• Experience in student mentoring, advising, or supervision.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Public Health and related disciplines.
• Develop new courses and instructional materials aligning with program needs.
• Utilize technology-enhanced and online learning strategies.
• Supervise student projects, internships, and independent studies.
• Establish an active research agenda leading to peer-reviewed publications.
• Pursue internal and external grants/funding to support scholarly activities.
• Collaborate on research within the School and across disciplines.
• Advise and mentor students in academic planning and professional development.
• Support experiential learning through research, community engagement, and study abroad.
• Participate in program assessment, accreditation activities, and curriculum development.
• Serve on committees and engage in professional service.
