York College, a senior college of The City University of New York, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in psychology to begin Fall 2027.

The department seeks candidates with an active research program and ability to teach a range of Psychology courses, including Statistics, Physiology of Behavior, Cognitive Psychology, and Experimental Psychology, in in-person, online, and hybrid formats. Salary is competitive and includes benefits.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Psychology. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to collaborate with others for the good of the program and institution.
• Prior teaching experience at the college level.
• Active research agenda that includes recent publications and presentations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a commitment to collaborative work.
• Can teach courses in Statistics, Physiology of Behavior, Cognitive Psychology, and/or Experimental Psychology in a variety of modalities.

Responsabilités

• Teaching psychology courses in the in-person, hybrid, and online formats.
• Participating in the development and assessment of new curricula and pedagogical approaches.
• Providing student advisement and mentoring.
• Contributing to Department, School, College, and University service activities, including governance, program assessment, day-to-day operation, and student recruitment and retention, among other areas.
• Research resulting in publications and presentations.
• Collaboration with colleagues to support departmental initiatives and college-wide programs.
