Job summary

Louisiana State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Performance Studies. We seek a scholar-artist who combines innovative research with practice-based creation, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, and mentoring students in arts-based scholarship, beginning August 2027.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in related field, active arts-based research, and readiness to utilize the HopKins Black Box theatre as a primary methodology.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. by time of appointment.
• Active agenda of arts-based research and creative practice.
• Research credentials commensurate with a Comprehensive Doctoral University.
• Evidence of excellence in teaching.
• Publication and production record (or clear potential).

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Performance Studies.
• Mentor students in original arts-based scholarship and practice-based projects.
• Conduct high-quality research, including written work and staged performances.
• Publish findings and create original performances in HopKins Black Box theatre.
