Job summary

Louisiana State University seeks a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in Painting and Drawing. The candidate will teach painting and drawing studio courses across BA, BFA, and MFA programs and mentor MFA and graduate students. The position begins August 2027.

The ideal candidate has MFA or terminal degree and a demonstrated record of exhibitions and professional activity, with a commitment to pedagogy and program development. Salary commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• MFA or other terminal degree in painting, drawing, fine arts, or related studio fine arts.
• Prior teaching experience and excellence in studio courses focusing on painting and drawing.
• Significant record of professional achievements and commitment to research/creative activities.

Responsibilities

• Teach 2–3 courses per semester at undergrad and grad levels.
• Engage in research and scholarly activity.
• Serve on MFA graduate committees and participate in curriculum development.
• Maintain active professional art presence and engage with the artistic community.
• Provide service to the school, college, university, and profession.
