Qualifications

• PhD in History or a related field required by Aug 10, 2027.
• At least 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline.
• Experience researching modern African American history.
• Experience teaching African American history and related lecture/seminar courses.
• Experience mentoring graduate students or contributing to graduate programs.

Responsibilities

• Teach two courses per semester in African American history and related topics.
• Establish and maintain a vibrant research program involving undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD students.
• Contribute to graduate program development and department service.
